The Zipbolt UT Angled Railbolt 11.560 was designed for the stair industry to solve the challenge of securely attaching an angled handrail to a newel post using a hidden fastener. The connector features UT gear-driven technology, allowing easy tightening at a right angle, deep within the handrail, using a Torx driver in a drill or screwdriver. The pivoting 8mm shaft has a coach bolt (wood thread) that can be hand-wound directly into the post. Once the handrail is bored and the angle cut, it attaches quickly and securely. The pivoting action adjusts to any angle – open or closed – creating a strong joint without the need for a long, visible screw through the face of the newel post or unsightly filled nail holes. The Zipbolt 13.960 Angled Slipfix Railbolt is the companion to the Zipbolt 11.560 Angled Railbolt, designed specifically for securing a handrail to a post at an acute angle (such as an upstairs joint). The angled shaft is pre-installed into the rail with a slight protrusion, allowing it to slot directly into the fitted keyhole disc in the post. Once engaged, the Zipbolt’s gear-driven system tightens the joint using the included T30 Torx driver, creating a precise and durable connection. IMPORTANT: DO NOT USE AN IMPACT DRIVER TO INSTALL THIS PRODUCT.

For the upper connection: Assemble the rail bolt shaft and gear housing in the rail, install the keyhole disc, and tighten the gear with the included T30 Torx driver using a screwdriver or cordless drill. NOTE: Impact drivers should not be used when tightening the gear housing.
