Every time a flower blooms, the bees can make a different tasting honey. Customers often think that all honey tastes the same. Until they experience the difference by smelling and tasting our different honeys. If a beekeeper does their job correctly, beehives are placed in a large orange grove or blackberry field or raspberry field etc when the fields are in full bloom. If the honey supers are empty, then all of the honey made will be made from the nectar of the bloom. When the bloom ends, the beekeeper must pull all of the honey supers from the hive. The honey from these supers is extracted and that is how gourmet honey is produced. The honeys vary from dark almost black honey such as buckwheat honey to light honey such as gallberry honey (or Florida Holly). Color of honey varies with each harvest and may vary from images shown.
