This is a story told from the point of view of a little boy. His mother is making him attend the funeral of Andrew Mellon, a person little has never heard of before. When he would rather be playing with his friends as his summer days before school starts are nearing the end. Not only does he have to go to a funeral, but mother is making him wear a necktie. It's a hot summer day in August. The story begins as little Billy is preparing to leave the house. The family gets the train at the once popular Ligonier Valley Train Station in Ligonier Pennsylvania. The funeral is held at the cathedral -like Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Along the train route Mother points out to Billy the effects of who Andrew Mellon was. This is noticeable as they pass the Gulf station, Idlewild Park and other experience passengers discuss as they travel into the city. After reading this lovely story about one of Americas greatest entrepreneurs, the reader will have gained an understanding of the impact on the United States of America becasue of Andrew Mellon.
