“Antique twine/ribbon dispenser. Appears to be complete and in working order. The little wheel on the end of the shaft spins with a ball bearing in it. The twine is fed down the tube and through a little rocking pincher right under the cutter. So when you pull the material up to cut on the blade,the spool end is held taught. Takes a safety razor blade for the cutter knife. The main body of the unit is finished with black wrinkle paint that became popular during WWII, so my guess is that this was made in the 1940s or 1950s. Faceplate reads: SWIF-TY TWINE AND RIBBON DISPENSER PAT. 2,163,064 D-112,046 COWAN MFG. CO., S.F.”
