Bird’s consumption of Omega varies between 5 and 10% of body weight. PSITTACUS daily diet should constitute no less than 70-80% of the overall diet by weight. No vitamin or mineral supplements should be given to parrots whose staple food is PSITTACUS daily diets. Omega may be offered exclusively or as a complement to several psittacine birds of medium and large-sized species. We recommend restricting the amount in species that tend to gain weight such as amazon, cockatoo, ring-neck parakeet, and eclectus.
