Most aluminum foil tape jobs are straightforward, until you're working in a 28°F attic in January, and your tape won't stick. Standard acrylic adhesives stiffen as ambient temperature drops toward freezing, leaving seams that fail inspection and require rework. Our foil tape for ductwork uses the Venture Tape formula solvent-based acrylic adhesive, which maintains effective tack and bonding performance at lower application temperatures than conventional acrylic systems. For HVAC contractors sealing ductwork in unheated buildings, insulation crews working winter schedules, or facility teams maintaining systems year-round, this is a functional difference, not a marketing claim. The vent duct tape delivers 73 oz/in adhesion to stainless steel with a service temperature range of -22°F to 248°F. The 2 mil aluminum foil carrier is conformable, wrapping curved surfaces, irregular seams, and duct connections without cracking. Total foil duct tape thickness is 3.6 mils. A paper release liner keeps the adhesive protected and clean until the moment of application. Beyond HVAC duct sealing, AF20 is used for: insulation jacket repair, vapor barrier seam sealing, pipe insulation lap seams, foil-faced board repairs, dryer duct tape applications, and bonding to metal and plastic substrates.
