It’s Highly Recommended to have highest Core Cranking Heavy duty New Battery and run 4 gauge wire from battery to alternator post ( not included) To allow maximum flow to your battery=========Before Installing the Alternator Please read the instruction below. 1) diesel has glow plug relay , if that relay stays on all the time it will burn the alternator 2) Some Models require small modification when installing a large case alternator ,you need to put washers under the alternator for clearance between bottom of the alternator and top of bracket to keep the alternator little higher between the engine and alternator on 7.3 and 6.0 engine . Before installing the belt turn the pulley with your hand make sure it's turning freely after that install the belt
