Dual Air Gap for Dishwasher and Tankless Reverse Osmosis Filter with Extra Long Thread (AG200-007 AMERIGAP)

A dishwasher and RO air gap provides safe drainage of the discharge water into the garbage disposal unit. The plumbing code requires the dishwasher and RO air gap in most states. Using a dishwasher and RO system without an air gap is not recommended. The AG200-007’s maximum flow rate is 12 gallons per minute (GPM). The maximum flow rate of the 1/4-inch port for the tankless reverse osmosis (RO) filter is 2.5 GPM. The maximum flow rate through this air gap is the highest flow rate above which the air gap will overflow. At maximum flow rate, the air gap is dry on the outside. A common misconception is that a “high loop” (routing a drain line above a sink’s flood level, for instance) and a wye connection will provide the same function as an air gap; this is not true, because the continuous connection between dishwasher and drain line still will allow back-flow through siphoning. This air gap is easy to install, easy to use, and easy to maintain. The AG200-007 air gap is UPC and IPC listed.

• ❤ INLET PORTS: The AG200-007 accepts a standard 5/8-inch inside diameter hose from a dishwasher and a 1/4-inch outside diameter tubing from a tankless Reverse Osmosis filter. The hose from the dishwasher slides onto the side port and is secured using stainless worm clamps (not included). The tankless RO tubing connects to a push-in quick-connect adapter. Make sure there are no kinks in the hose and that water passes freely. This air gap is compatible with all dishwashers and tankless RO filters.
• ❤ OUTLET PORTS: The drainage side of the air gap connects to a 7/8-inch inside diameter hose, which routes discharge water to the side drain connection on the garbage disposal. This hose is available from Home Depot (search for “PVC Disposal Discharge Hose”). When installing this hose, make sure that there is no sagging or loops. Any sagging will create standing water and will restrict the proper draining of the air gap. Secure both ends of the hose with a 1-inch stainless steel worm clamp.
• ❤ THREADED BODY: The AG200-007 has a body with a thread that enables air gap mounting through a standard countertop. Countertop thickness can be up to 2-3/8 inches, and it does not require any special modification to accommodate this air gap. The body of the air gap made from extra durable plastic to resists bending or deforming.
• ❤ MOUNTING NUT: The AG200-007 has a durable mounting nut that will not strip or become loose. The multi-threaded nut can be tightened without the worry of damaging threads.
