DocksLocks Trailer Safety Cables are designed to connect and couple your trailer to your vehicle to ensure safe towing. In the event your trailer becomes disconnected from your trailer hitch, these cables will keep the trailer connected to the vehicle. The use of trailer safety cables when you tow is not only safe, but is also required by law.

- High strength. Braided steel construction increases strength without increasing the weight of the cable. S-hook safety latches are 11mm thick and made from hardened galvanized steel. Ensure the break strength of each trailer safety cable equals or exceeds the gross trailer weight.
- Functional and safe design. Self-coiling design eliminates slack and prevents the cables from dragging on the ground. S-hooks include a spring-loaded safety latch to prevent the cables from becoming unhooked during travel over bumps or rough roads. Vinyl coating not only prevents the cable from scratching your car, but also reduces noise created by the cable during travel.
- Weatherproof and superior durability. Each cable is constructed of braided marine grade weatherproof steel and vinyl coated to provide protection against the elements, rust and corrosion. S-Hooks are made of galvanized hardened steel. Cable and S-Hooks withstand all weather conditions.
- Use correctly. Safety chain requirements require the use of two cables at a time and the breaking strength of each be equal to or exceed the gross trailer weight. In other words, a 7000lb trailer needs two safety cables each with a break strength of at least 7000 pounds. Many trailer safety cables will deceptively and falsely advertise the combined break strength or working load limit (WLL). Ensure the break strength of each trailer safety cable equals or exceeds the gross trailer weight.
