High-Carbon Chrome Vanadium, also known as 80CrV2, is outstandingly tough steel for knifemaking. It has good wear resistance and a hardening capability of 57-58 HRC. This steel is extremely tough with great edge retention. 80CrV2 makes excellent steel for hunting knives, tactical knives, or everyday designs. Typical chemistry - C .75-.85, Si - .15-.35, Mn - .30-.50, P .025(max), S - .025(max) Cr- .40-.60, Ni - .40 Mo - .10, V - .15-.25
